Charity Work

At Blaze we are passionate about giving something back to the community, over the years we have supported many charities including NSPCC and GOSH, however the main charity we support is Operation Santa.

Over 15,000 children in Dudley Borough are currently living below the poverty line. Thousands of children and young people in the borough will have no present to open on Christmas morning every year. Dudley CVS Volunteer Centre has always ran an annual toy appeal and it’s been bringing smiles to the faces of local disadvantaged children and young people at Christmas time for years. In December 2015 Hope Operation Santa appeal reached over 13,500 children. This was their best year to date!

Blaze Hair is a consistant collection point and gratefully receive new or un-used; children’s books, toys, clothes, Christmas food, games, or school stationary. Operation Santa also works in partnership with Black Country Foodbank and any food or clothing items received are donated to them, to help make christmas for families who are struggling! Throughout the year we run fundraising events to raise money which we then use to buy essentials to aid the children’s development. Here is the launch of our pick and pack a pencil case appeal:

Brett has been supporting this charity for a number of years now and in 2013 he was lucky enough to win the "Business Supporting the Community Award" from Dudley CVS which was presented to him by the Mayor Cllr Alan Finch and Dudley CVS chairman, Mike Abrahams.(below left)

This year Brett was thrilled to receive a personal letter of thanks this year from the prime minister, David Cameron. Along with a trophy for him and 'the blaze angels' from Eileen Fielding, his boss at Operation Santa.

Another childrens charity Blaze regularly supports is GOSH. In May 2014, the third year running raising money for GOSH, the team lead a 7 mile sponsored dog walk in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital called 'Go Walkies for GOSH'. They managed to raise £810.27 which brings our total over the years to over £4,000 raised for the worthy cause.

We are sincerely honoured to have such a wonderful network of family, friends and clients who have helped us make such a difference to our community, without them we are nothing to our charities. We salute you!
